Ban Gay Marriage - California, Arizona, Florida

This election there were propositions in three states to amend the state constitutions that a marriage should be defined as solely between a man and a woman and that no other marriages would be recognized. All three states passed the amendments: 52% for Proposition 8 in California, 56% for Proposition 102 in Arizona, and 62% Amendment 2 in Florida.

This issue has always been about the sacred and divine institution of marriage — a union between a man and a woman. Although the amendments have passed, the fight is not over. Elder Packer did say in his talk Sunday that our society is not much different that the time of Sodom and Gomorrah (which had grave sins in homosexuality). There are still people out there that want to destroy the sanctity of marriage.
